While architectural tours of New Orleans’ historic Garden District will introduce you to some fabulous grand exteriors, The New Orleans Holiday Home Tour is a rare opportunity to visit the city’s beautiful interiors, decorated in their seasonal glory. The three-day event kicks off with a Patron Party offering live music and local cuisine benefiting the Preservation Resource Center. This year, the party will be held in the home of one of New Orleans’ most distinguished businessmen, Mr. Joseph C. Canizaro and his wife Sue Ellen Canizaro, located along stunning Northline Blvd where parallel avenues dotted with mansions are shaded by an archway of oak trees. This residential masterpiece was designed in 2005 by New Orleans architect, Peter M. Trapolin with interiors decorated by internationally acclaimed US designer, Alexa Hampton, featuring an extensive collection of 18th century antique furnishing, an original Botticelli painting, and private chapel. Guests attending the Patron Party will have an exclusive occasion to mix with locals while experiencing the charm of Southern living. The weekend continues with a self-guided walking tour of nine homes throughout the Garden District.
